Overwhelmed by how to organize your comedy set and which jokes you should dive in deeper on and which jokes are quick take aways? This session is designed to focus on CRAFTING YOUR SET! We’ll dive into writing your stand-up act and some basics, as well as advanced performance and writing skills when you’re ready for them. We will work on improving and sorting out your material and the organization of your 5, 7 and 10 minute set lists. We’ll look at how you develop a joke, then take a few jokes and build them into a “bit.” We will discuss “why a joke doesn’t work” and how to improve them as well as crafting a joke and the skills you should be developing to improve your overall writing. You will get tools to do all of these improvements.

The basics of being a good host will help you feel more confident and comfortable in your comedy career. Great emcees don’t just happen… they learn the skills that are necessary to get hired and paid to host real shows in real comedy clubs.
