Cipha Sounds

with Joe Klocek and Darlene Bereznicki

As a staple of NYC’s comedy scene and a DJ with roots in the city’s rich hip-hop history, Cipha Sounds is a man of many talents. With a knack for observational comedy, a background in improv, and an arsenal of music industry anecdotes, Cipha’s sets are always unique – drawing on the energy of the room and the audience.

When he’s not traveling the world with comedians like Dave Chappelle, Michelle Wolf, Mo Amer, and Michael Che, you can find him performing at Manhattan’s legendary Comedy Cellar, and headlining major clubs around the country.

Cipha is no stranger to the small screen. He just wrapped a series with L.L. Cool J for A&E titled Hip Hop Treasures, which is slated to debut top of 2023. Cipha starred on TV shows like Tru TV’s "Laff Mobb's Laff Tracks", Fuse’s "What’s Ur Thing?" and was featured on HBO Max’s "That Damn Michael Che". He also spent many years as a host on Hot 97’s morning show, the original DJ for Chappelle’s Show, and a touring DJ for artists such as Lil Kim, Mos Def, and Rihanna. Cipha is currently the co-host of the podcasts Juan Ep Is Life (with Hot 97 and ESPN’s Peter Rosenberg), and Talk Clearlyer (with fellow comedian Wil Sylvince), and he is working on his debut half-hour special.

Joe Klocek

Joe has appeared on Comedy Central's "Live at Gotham," NBC's "Last Comic Standing" and was a commentator for the Emmy award-winning documentary, "A Bridge so Far." Joe has also told a story on NPR's "Snap Judgement" and San Francisco's own "Bawdy."

Joe has also been a runner-up in the "San Francisco International Comedy Competition" and the "Seattle Comedy Competition."

Voted "Best Comic" in the 2011 SF Weekly Readers Poll.

Joe also had a two month "comic in residency" at the first comedy club in Shanghai, China. He has also performed in Hong Kong and Singapore.

Darlene Bereznicki

Darlene is a Canadian, San Francisco-based comedian, improviser and actor. She's performed at Limestone Comedy Festival, SLO Comedy Festival, SF Sketchfest, Treefort Music Fest, the San Francisco Comedy Competition and the Chicago Women's Funny Fest. She once starred in a Bed Bath & Beyond commercial promoting in-store shopping, leading that company to announce they planned to close 200 stores as soon as possible. She is a good actor. The pandemic forced her to create the Talking Birds podcast which is... important news.
