Aaron Foster

Comedian, and Bay Area native, Aaron Foster is a former HGTV host who started doing stand-up as a way to manage his depression and anxiety. Foster brings his award winning and darkly funny "Mostly Jokes" show to Rooster T. Feathers, for one night only as he prepares to tape it as his first special later this year.

MOSTLY JOKES TOUR

The show: Growing up with a bipolar father and a schizophrenic brother left Aaron Foster with a combination of survivor’s guilt, depression and anxiety that has invalidated his every accomplishment, destroyed his every relationship and invaded his every waking thought. A comedy!

"Mostly Jokes" was named "Best Solo Show" at the Tucson Fringe Festival in January and has received reviews such as: "A laugh every twenty seconds." "I've never laughed so hard about mental health." "Subversively hilarious, laugh out loud gallows humor." It gets a bit dark here and there, but don't worry, it's mostly jokes... mostly.

Foster has performed at clubs and theaters throughout the Western US and Canada and has been touring this show for the past year to over 40 cities. Some of his main influences are Mike Birbiglia, Maria Bamford, Gary Gulman, Marc Maron, Taylor Tomlinson and Neal Brennan. Do with that information what you will.

Rea Kapur

Rea Kapur (she/her) is a Bay Area based comedian & a devout lesbian; often described as “the coolest girl in the psych ward.” A regular at the San Jose Improv, Rea has hosted & featured for acclaimed comedians Tommy Tiernan, DeAnne Smith, Mark Smalls, Pinky Patel, & the patron saint of mental health comedy, Maria Bamford. Her award-winning, co-created show, “Perversity, Equity, and Inclusion”, sold out at the San Francisco Fringe Festival, featuring an all queer, mostly trans cast. In May, Rea clinched 3rd place at the 20th Annual Roosters Comedy Competition in the South Bay!
